Governor John Hoeven and the 2007 Legislature recognized the importance of expanding internship and work experience opportunities to the State's postsecondary students as a way for them to make connections with North Dakota businesses with career opportunities in North Dakota. The Operation Intern program fosters those connections through an application for matching dollars in addition to tax credits to qualifying companies.
The Workforce Development Division of the North Dakota Department of Commerce will oversee Operation Intern to offer higher education internship and work experience opportunities to North Dakota students. Employers and students interested in participating in Operation Intern can check for program eligibility and submit an application to the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
