The Workforce Division is responsible for monitoring local, regional, and national workforce initiatives and the development and implementation of the State's Talent and intelligence coordination strategies. Its goals ensure that North Dakota employers have access to a skilled talent pool to meet their workforce needs, young people remain in state for jobs and civic engagement and volunteerism expands in the state.
The Division also provides administrative support to Governor appointed Councils and Commissions including the:
North Dakota Workforce Development Council
North Dakota Youth Development Council
North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Services
Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
Programs administered by the Division include the AmeriCorps State formula program, the Internship and Work Experience Opportunities Expansion Program, the Workforce Enhancement Grant Program and the Career Promotion Specialist Initiative.
